Spain is at the forefront of modern farming and milling practices. In recent years, the government and interest groups have successfully campaigned to raise the profile of Spanish extra virgin olive oils on the global stage. The native Picual and Arbequina olives are the two most widely grown varieties worldwide. However, Spanish olive oils feature a wide range of local cultivars.
